Named after my son, Fitness Maximus is my personal training brand. Having worked with a wide range of clients for over a decade, I’ve developed my own systematic approach to fitness. My focus has always been to make people as strong as they can possibly be. Having more physical strength transcends every aspect of your life in a positive way. Exercise not only improves your body; it also stimulates your mind. If you train correctly, your brain gets stronger too. Lifting weights improves your memory and your mood, but if you exercise haphazardly, it can cause excessive stress and produce negative results instead.
Sleep and nutrition are vital to recovery and performance. Most of us don’t get enough. Then we beat our bodies up with hours of cardio and aimless busy work in the gym. Less is often more. Doing too much can lead to fatigue and muscle loss - the complete opposite of what we’re after. Exercise should make you feel better, not broken. Training should improve the quality of your life, not hinder it. In a society driven by egos and social media, we lose sight of what fitness really is. It’s not about shredded abs and huge lifts, unless you’re a professional competitor. It’s about being happy, healthy, and enjoying life.
Poor movement patterns build weak bodies. You’re only as strong as your weakest link. The moment I heard that it changed my life. Throwing big weight around is fun, but you have to address all the little things too. The body functions as a whole, not as individual muscle groups. If any of those smaller muscles don’t do their job, compound movements can’t be executed properly. And you need to be able to maintain dynamic posture to prevent injury. That’s why it’s so important to do prehab and corrective exercises, no matter how experienced you are. You always have to do your homework!
Now that CrossFit style boot camps are trending, we have more broken bodies than ever before. Everyone wants to lift heavy, but not everyone should be doing such high-intensity workouts. Average working people are not athletes. Everyone has great potential, but you can’t perform at that level unless you dedicate a great deal of time to training and recovery. Most of us simply don't eat enough quality food or get enough quality sleep to train like that. You can’t sit at a desk all day then jump straight into Olympic weightlifting. It can be difficult to scale your personal goals, but injury will quickly put you in your place if you don't.
For most of us, the ideal body (as we’ve been sold to believe) is neither attainable nor maintainable. Some of us can build freakish bodies naturally, but most have to cheat in order to look like fitness models year round. Extreme physiques can only be achieved through extreme means. Deprivation diets, anabolic drugs, and plastic surgeries have become socially admirable. True healthy living is hard to practice, and all these false messages keep pulling us in the wrong direction. What works for me may not work for you, so it takes time to decode each and every body. There is no single solution, no miracle training program.
My goal is to help every client reach their maximum potential safely and efficiently. In this world of fad diets and insta-workouts, it’s my job to help you develop healthy daily habits. Learning how to take charge of your body and balance your lifestyle is the key to lasting success. Quick results never last, but hard work always stands the test of time. When you train S.M.A.R.T. and eat right, your body changes for good. You’ll never go back to being the way you were before. You will set out on a path of continuous growth and positive transformation. Learn how to take command of your mind and body. Then you will become the master of your own well-being, and that is the ultimate reward.
